Crawfish Boil Honey-Do Shower

In south Louisiana we LOVE crawfish. Crawfish boils are a regular event during this time of year! So it seemed only natural that my brother's honey-do shower would be a crawfish boil theme! It was so much fun to create this rustic Louisiana party with accents of red, galvanized metal, nets, burlap and of course crawfish! Besides the 3 sacks of crawfish there were many other yummy treats that we Louisianans love.

Nets were hung as a backdrop to one of the food tables with crawfish "caught" in them.  The table was decorated with red burlap pieces of fabric draped over a white tablecloth.  On top of the red burlap, nets were causally thrown on top to add that rustic feel.  A picture of the future bride and groom was placed on this table.

This food table was the centerpiece of the event with the crawfish pot cake as the star.  Surrounding the cake were fried boudin balls, Zapp's Cajun Crawtator potato chips, crawfish shaped sugar cookies, stuffed strawberries, and cupcakes. Chalkboard signs finished off the table as food labels.

Funfetti cupcakes (my brother's favorite) were topped with a chocolate crawfish and placed on top of rustic  metal pie plates.

Stuffed strawberries and crawfish cookies satisfied the sweet tooth of the guests.

The crawfish pot tiered cake was placed on a large wooden tree slice.  Holding the cake up were bottles of Louisiana Hot Sauce, surrounded by all the crawfish boil fixins:  potatoes, lemons, mushrooms and garlic!  The cake was topped with an adorable "bride and groom" crawfish couple.

An old weathered table held paper goods and a rusted tin pail held the utensils.  A hurricane vase with candle surrounded by Spanish moss and a picture of the happy family were the finishing touches to the table.

Instead of a regular sign in book, all the guest signed a cajun stir paddle.  This table was decorated with a "beer cake" for the groom as well as crawfish glasses for the happy couple.  Another hurricane vase with candle and Spanish moss as well as mason jar wrapped in twine and filled with baby's breath decorated this table.  The backdrop to this table was an old rustic wood and burlap board which held pictures of the soon to be family.

Another food table covered in red burlap held all the yummy dips like buffalo chicken dip (the bride's favorite), crab dip and a cheese ball. Dips were placed in plastic shell bowls and crackers and chips were in galvanized buckets. A chalkboard sign with picture of the bride and groom counted down the days until the "I Do."

The drink station had lemonade, sweet tea and ice cold coke (in glass bottles of course!).  Guest where encouraged to "claim their jar for the evening," by writing his/her  name on the chalkboard label on the mason jar.  Red and white straws complemented the color theme and more pictures of the bride and groom in burlap frames decorated the table.

Of course no party is complete without the perfect invitation.
